The Wool Shop
Description
“It's impossible not to become immersed in the improbability, romance, tragedy, resourcefulness and wonderment of this speck in the ocean, that is Maria.”
The colours, textures, patterns and history of Maria Island have inspired a sketchbook approach to eight handknitting designs. Prue Hutton’s striking artwork and diary from a four-day walk on Maria have been interpreted in unique handknits by Sally Ord.
Readers can immerse themselves in the places that inspired Prue’s artwork and then follow the knitting patterns to recreate Sally’s exquisite garments. The story behind each design unfolds through the journey, explaining how it relates to the history, scenery, animals or bird life of the island. It details why particular colours, yarn and stitch patterns have been chosen for each garment. Photographs of the designs allow readers to view patterns and finishing details, enriching the relationship between seeing and interpretation.
Shipping and returns
Delivery charges:
Delivery charges are based on the final weight of the parcel and determined by Australia Post postage rates. Postage is added at the later stage of the ordering process.
Select the items you require, click on 'Purchase Now' enter 'Your Details' (including country) then the next screen automatically calculates the postage.
This process is required to provide the correct calculation, based on the total weight and the country to be sent to.
A reliable and cost-effective service is provided by Australia Post - all deliveries are sent via the delivery option you have chosen. Australia postage options include Regular postage and Express postage. International postage options include Airmail and sea mail.
Note: A new charge has been introduced in the United States of America (USA) for articles over 500g, so Australia Post has added an additional $9 security surcharge. This additional process may cause transit delays of up to 48 hours.
